I am Aaron Stockwell. I am the son of Wayne and Bernadette, the brother of Shannon, the fiancé of Lizzie. A Bay Stater by birth, I have also lived in Texas and Kansas. I am a hiker and a sometime runner. I am a lifelong volunteer with Boy Scouts of America. I am an amateur letterpress printer. I wander in Farmers' Markets, and seek the tastiest craft beer. I am a Unitarian Universalist minister in Final/Full Fellowship.

I studied English and Secondary Education at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. I graduated from the Master of Divinity program at Andover Newton Theological School (ANTS). While at ANTS, I served as the worship coordinator and co-president for the UU Student Fellowship as well as the Intern Minister at First Parish of Lincoln, MA. Before ordination, I also worked as an administrative assistant at King's Chapel, intern at the International Resources Office at our UUA, the sabbatical minister at the Harvard UU Church, and as the Interim Director of Lifespan Religious Education at the First Parish in Lexington, MA.

Since my ordination on June 5, 2015, I have served congregations in states of transition. I have completed our Unitarian Universalist Association’s Interim Program Professional’s training, the Interim Ministry Network’s Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry Trainings: The Work of the Congregation and the Work of the Leader. While I have taken these trainings, I am glad to now serve in a settled ministry. My partner Lizzie works in the bio tech industry.

In College Station, Texas, the congregation I served as Developmental Minister had its buildings and land seized through eminent domain by the state. The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley found rental space with a Jewish student organization, Hillel. I led much of the effort to find the rental space, partnered with lay leaders to organize the move, and led the Farewell Service, and helped design the process for searching for their next property. I represented the congregation in local interfaith organizations.

In Lawrence, KS, I served as the first full-time Interim Minister of a congregation founded in 1957. At the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lawrence, I had to navigate the issue of ministerial authority and responsibilities. I also worked with staff and lay leaders to come to new understandings of the congregation-as-employer. I had an active role in the revision of bylaws and additional policies. I also strengthened connections with local and statewide interfaith efforts.

In both of these congregations, I have loved the tasks of preaching, providing pastoral care, working with lay leadership and staff, and teaching adult religious education.

While I have appreciated and grown in my ministry while serving in time limited ministries, I am glad to be embarking in settled ministry. I was called on May 3, 2020 to serve as the 25th Senior Minister of the First Parish in Framingham, MA. I began this role on August 15, 2020.
